Attendants

Bold colors remain hot this year. Yellow is the top color this year and can be worn almost any time of the year. Light yellows in the spring, bright yellows in the summer and more golden yellows in the fall make it a very versatile color. In addition, it makes an excellent backdrop for a variety of accent colors such as orange, lavender, blue, white or clover. The combination of colors you choose will dictate what the mood will feel like. Purple has taken the stage as well with shades like lavender, orchid and plum. Silver replaces brown in being the hot accent color for most colors. One important thing to remember when choosing bridesmaid dresses is to choose a matte fabric in order to avoid the shiny satin look of the 80's.

Bride

Pearls continue to be an elegant choice for the bride and can be worn in a variety of ways. Brides have gotten bold and are adding colored accents to their bridal ensemble in the way of colored sashes and even color in their jewelry.

On the runway we're seeing a new emphasis on the waist with ribbon sashes, flowers and even belts. While ball gowns continue to be popular, slimmer a-line gowns and trumpet gowns are taking the spotlight. The classic and romantic look is prominent with lots of lace and flowing organza fabrics. Other noteworthy features are the open back dress and the empire waist. Several dresses (such as in the Vera Wang collection) have a very Grecian look about them. Romona Keveza wins the award for the most timeless collection and Cristos has a very nice look this year as well.
